The project includes wildlife monitoring at various locations in and around the airport as shown in the graphic to the right.  The observations are conducted in the morning, daytime and evening hours and will be conducted before, during and after construction.

In addition, specific wildlife observations are being conducted at each of the ponds that are being modified.

A grid system, as shown to the left, has been established for each pond to record location and movement activities. Information gathered includes species type and size, numbers observed, and type of activity (forage, loafing, perching, nesting and transitioning).

The observations are conducted over a 24-hour period each month.

The results of the environmental surveys will be tabulated and analyzed to determine the effects on bird populations as a result of the new pond modifications.
